Over the last two years Kirk's achievements for an unsigned artist are at the least credible. Having supported, Courtney Pine, Nick Harper, Catherine Williams, Tommy Emmanuel, Nitin Sawhney & Desmond Decker and a personal privilege, Bert Jansch, all of which drove the belief deeper that playing acoustic guitar and song writing are "What I am meant to do"
The PRS have shown support of Kirk and his talent as has the afore mentioned Nitin Sawhney. Such support resulting in November 2004 the opportunity for Kirk along with a host of other talented world musicians & artists to join Nitin Sawhney and take part in the Melbourne International Music Festival, Australia. This was a huge success with club nights, and the final show "Aftershock" being played to over 3000 people. Future recordings are booked for later this year for this innovative and hugely successful venture.
In 2005 Kirk's sound has improved with more gig's and writing. His sound, a full intricate mosaic of vocals and rich picking, has lead to him being well received by crowds at festivals. As with all musicians, and artists in general the process of creation is a perpetual evolution, and live performances offer audiences a glimpse into this process, as sounds build momentarily and no performance has had the opportunity to mimic the last.
It's Kirk's live performances which make him stand out from other performers. His unique ability to reach people and tailor a set to the venue, ambience and crowd, leave each member of the audience astounded and individually touched through insightful lyrics and a vibrant technique.
